I've never been a huge Clint Barmes guy (pictured 2003 Upper Deck rookie baseball card) but recently did a mock draft in preparation for the NFBC (National Fantasy Baseball Championship) and was stuck for a 2nd baseman. In desperation I picked up Barmes and decided to research further.
Here's what I've got - he turns 30 this year so he's still in his prime and he has a chance to be the everyday 2nd baseman for the Rockies so plays a thin position with a nice home ballpark - two things fantasy baseball players like. He might be able to maintain a batting average above 280 and looks like a 15/15 guy - In deep leagues I start getting very interested in players that can combine for 30 HRs+steals.
Don't know if he'll win your league for you but if you're stuck for a 2nd baseman in a deep league I think Clint Barmes is worth a shot.
