Jeff Clement - 2009 Fantasy Baseball Sleepers , Part 11 of 12

Ok so Jeff Clement was a complete fantasy baseball disaster last year once he got call up (pictured

The Mariners have nothing to loose right now so Jeff Clement may be assured playing time as they look to develop their younger players. Although he only hit 226 with 5 home runs in 200 or so at bats, Clements minor league numbers show a ton of upside. In AAA last year he hit 14 home runs in 173 at bats and maintained a batting average of 335. The year before Jeff Clement hit 20 home runs in a full season at AAA. Granted these were all achieved in the hitter friendly Pacific Coast League, but even if we revise them down he's still a solid #2 catcher with sick upside. Let's say he levels off at 280 with 20 homers - he'd crack the top 10 for fantasy baseball catchers. Watch Jeff Clement this spring and if he's starting don't be afraid to take a late round flier on him if you need some help at catcher.
